You Should Listen To Tim Maia’s Reissue Because He Was A Badass

The Existential Adventures of Tim Maia by LuakaBopper

The animated (very) short film for the Tim Maia reissue of Nobody Can Live Forever has me completely hooked on Maia’s career, music and legacy in the span of two minutes. Impressive. Narrated by Devendra Banhart the video provides a brief overview of the enigmatic musician and the impact his music had on his native Brazil and beyond.

The video coincides with the release of Nobody Can Live Forever: The Existential Soul of Tim Maia, featuring 15 remastered tracks from Maia’s 1970 recordings and commemorates what would have been his 70th birthday. The album is iTunes Reissue of the Year and one of Spin’s Best Reissues of 2012.
