Gotye (pronounced “gore-ti-yeah”) is the musical work of the Australian Wally de Backer. Where the stage name comes from I don’t know, but I do know that his handsome, anthemic electronic-pop could put a little spring in anyone’s step.

I saw this Brooklyn band play for Fashion’s Night Out in 2010. Lead singer Deidre Muro’s emotive, rich voice is even more impressive in person. These sweet indie rockers have a bit of a 60’s flair that makes for music that’s a bit nostalgic and whimsical.
