Are you afraid of the dark? What if the darkness offered a ‘sensory tasting experience,‘ conversation and concert? The Blind Cafe brings this pitch black event to Austin from November 3-5, where guests are invited to dine and listen to live music “without the distraction of visual conditioning, social etiquette, and cells phones.”
The eye-opening experience is designed to “change the way you ‘see’ the world.” Removing sight from the equation causes all other stimuli to become heightened. The gathering creates an environment for personal challenge, growth and discovery, while raising awareness for the blind.
The Blind Cafe partners with The VEX Project, a vocational enrichment program found in Austin, TX by Blind Cafe Keynote Blind Facilitator, Richie Flores, to “redefine Blind,” through the positive awareness of community resources and public speaking events.
