Tennis – Never Work For Free

“I’ll never work for free / No I can’t give up / It never belongs to me / I’ll never work for free /Like an incantation I’ve been repeating.” The opening lines to Tennis’ single, “Never Work For Free” could be a mantra for everyone in the music industry and DIY’ers the world over.

Don’t sell yourself short, know your worth, hold your ground, we’ve all heard these maxims time and again, but it’s good to hear it expressed in a new way, especially by a band as determined, resolved and unique as Tennis.

The soul-mates (Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley are married in case you didn’t know) partnered with Urban Outfitters Live to premiere this video for “Never Work For Free” off their third album, Ritual In Repeat. The simple video has a cute, classic feel, with each band member standing on a separate geometric pedestal for the performance which was recorded live. Just like in the good ol’ days.

Tennis are currently on the move. Catch them on the last leg of their Ritual In Repeat tour:
