Welcome to the blissful sounds of Steven A. Clark. The singer’s orchestral synth-pop exudes a seductive mix of sensuality and vitality that’s destined to cause a stir at home and on the dance floor. Think raspy vocals and bold arrangements similar to Twin Shadow.
Clark has come a long way in finding his voice – literally. Growing up in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the songwriter was named “Most Quiet” in his high-school yearbook. It wasn’t until college that Clark explored, and was soon consumed by, music. Saying goodbye to North Carolina, Clark moved to Miami to nurture his passion.
The future’s been looking bright ever since.
The emotive single “Can’t Have” opens with lush strings, followed by epic swells of keys and percussion. A love song for the unattainable, the one’s we ‘can’t have,’ Clark sings, “if you’re happy, just know I ain’t mad.”
It’s just one of many tales of love, breakups and everything in between on the singer’s upcoming debut album, The Lonely Roller out September 18th via Secretly Canadian.
“Most Quiet?” Try “Most Likely To Break.” Turn this baby up and feel the soul and the rhythm.
