Spin the Dreidle

Today commences my “Best Of” week, where I will be listing my favorites from the past year, from albums to singles to videos…and of course the best songs to put you in the holiday spirit.  In honor of Hannukah, today I give you: The seasons best Hanukkah songs of 2010.

1. Miracle – Matisyahu
A new Hanukkah song, this is sure to become an instant classic. Being that it’s Matisyahu, it’s no miracle how catchy this song is.

2. Candlelight – The Maccabeats
With lyrics set to Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite” this song is adorable, informative and promises to get stuck in your head.  Get ready to sing along “saying ayo spin the dreidel!”

3. Happy Hanukkah: Jewish/Yiddish Parody – KanYid feat Shlepa-T
This is a hilarious parody of Kanye West’s “Runaway,” substituting the colorful “douchebags” and “scumbags” for the likes of shmucks and putz’s.

4. I Light It – NCSY Chanukah Musical Remix
This is great.  This Chanukah song is a mix to the songs of “Baby” by Justin Bieber, “Heartless” by Kanye West and “I like it” by Enrique Iglesias. NCSY stands for the National Conference of Synagogue Youth. They took this holiday season as an opportunity to join in the YouTube parodies to inform people about the holiday and their organization.

5. Light Is In The Air – Bible Raps
This video opens with a frame of candles that light on and off to the beat of the song. Pretty cool effect, though I must say the song isn’t quite as catchy.

L’chaim! Enjoy the candlelight! What are your favorite Hanukkah songs?
