Sign Me Up, Santa Fe

Beirut have released the track “Santa Fe” off of their upcoming album The Rip Tide. Frontman Zach Condon’s hometown, the track is a breezy poppy track that will have you wishing for the summer never to end. With big horns and stretches of accordion, the song previews what is promised to be an excellent album. Sign me up, indeed.

Be sure to check out Beirut’s other single, the similarly geographically titled “East Harlem.” As Pitchfork writes, “Another rose wilts in East Harlem,” Condon croons, as he wastes no words in vividly describing an intra-Manhattan relationship that feels like it’s separated by “a thousand miles” (have you tried getting from downtown to East Harlem lately?).” Word. The Rip Tide is available digitally August 2nd and physically August 30th via Condon’s own Pompeii Records.
