“In the movie of your life” how do you see things unfolding? Sometimes things work out better than imagined, other times life isn’t so kind. Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Owen Beverly sings about the latter in “Holding On To Nothing.”
The poignant glittering ballad tells the story of losing someone to soon. In this case, from a tragic accident: “In a fiery crash, smoke and ash, cigarette burning on the dash.”
Filmed in Coney Island, the video shows Beverly and a mermaid in a series of missed connections until they finally come together again, while Beverly begs the question, “Am I tied to you? Am I holding on to nothing?”
“Holding On To Nothing” is off Owen Beverly’s new LP Amager, which the singer recorded in Denmark while touring with Oh Land.
