Oscar – Daffodil Days

Do you hear that baritone? Bright-eyed Brit Oscar, emerges in full-bloom with the shimmering pop ballad “Daffodil Days.” With his unmistakably rich, deep voice, Oscar breathes cool, crisp life into the blossoming single.

Oscar just signed to Wichita Recordings, and while you may not be familiar with the name, you definitely know the label’s artists: Bloc Party, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Peter, Bjorn & John, Waxahatchee and more. Needless to say, Oscar finds himself in good company.

On “Daffodil Days” the Brit sings about rising above bad days. They sting in the moment, but they eventually pass and things start looking up. The song’s inspiration actually came from an auto-correct type to a friend. Oscar told Fader, ” I was having a pretty bad day and as I was texting a friend, the word ‘difficult’ turned to ‘daffodil’ by a stroke of autocorrect genius. It really made me laugh and somehow made a lot of a sense.”

Lesson: stay vigilant, your next big break could come from an autocorrect slip.

Have a listen and embrace the ‘daffodil days’ coming your way.
