|Carnival at the 54th Grammy After-Party|
The 54th Grammys didn’t end once the telecast ceased. The night was young, and the parties were just beginning. At the Los Angeles Convention Center the official Grammy after-party was well underway. The setting: Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana and Ipanema to be exact. The theme: Carnival. An onslaught of colors greeted guests as they arrived onto the lavish scene, where sequin and feather-clad dancers paraded on stationary floats, flanked by drummers dressed in white. |Kenny Loggins performs|
The entertainment on tap for the evening consisted of Kenny Loggins, known for 80’s hits like “Danger Zone” (from the Top Gun soundtrack) and “Footloose“, as well as rock crooners One Republic. The band played all their major hits including “Apologize”, “Stop and Stare”, “All The Right Moves” and closed their set with the lighthearted “Good Life.” A highlight of One Republic’s set though, was when they covered The White Stripes “Seven Nation Army” mashed up with a little Justin Timberkale “Sexy Back” toward the end. Usually singing heartfelt ballads, the boys had fun with this one, as lead vocalist Ryan Tedder jumped around stage and wailed into the mic. Who knew they had it in them?
