Chicago favorites Filligar are busy in the studio recording a follow up to The Nerve (2010), their debut album that caused a frenzy among rock critics and music fans alike (including The Boston Herald who raved, “this four-piece could grow into something massively cool”). A fan myself, the guys were nice enough to send me a couple tracks from the upcoming release, slated for early 2012. Crisp rock n’ roll, “Knock Yourself Out” and “Dead Wrong” are invigorating tracks, as fresh as the cool autumn breeze.
The band has opened for acts such as The Black Keys and My Morning Jacket and recently headlined a gig at the renowned Bowery Ballroom. Next they will be playing a CMJ showcase at NYC’s Mercury Lounge, on October 18th. Expect to see much more from Filligar come 2012.
