Idgy Dean – Indian Squirrel Dance

Idgy Dean (aka Lindsay Sanwald) is a one-woman show out of Brooklyn with a grunge-rock meets dream-pop sound. Today Dean releases “Indian Squirrel Dance,” the first single off her new EP, Ominous Harminus.

The song’s not as kitschy as it might sound; there’s no instructional dance break-down included or anything like that. Instead, the video finds Dean in upstate New York during the super-moon running free in a river, corn-field and open plain as she sings about her country, her man and most of all — loyalty.

The singer has an intriguing sound that’s a little bit Grimes meets Zola Jesus. Dean’s working with Eli Crews (Yoko Ono, tUnE-yArDs, Kathleen Hanna) on her new EP, so expect more compelling tunes on the way.

Ominous Harminus is slated for release in early 2015.
