LA-based Hanni El Khatib delivers a hearty dose of blusey rock on his latest album Head In The Dirt. Upon first hearing singles like “Skinny Little Girl”, “Penny” and “Family”, I found myself drawing comparisons to The Black Keys, only to discover that Dan Auerbach produced the album at his studio in Nashville. Khatib is largely influenced by rock bands of the 1950s and 60s which seeps into his grunge-rock sound. Give it a listen on “Skinny Little Girl”:
