Giveaway: Friendly Savages Inspired Knot By TIFFA Bow Tie

“Trouble With Home” Knot By TIFFA

Knot By TIFFA designs beautiful bow ties with the belief that “fashion and music are not in fact two separate entities, but born of the same muse.” And it’s by music that I discovered Knot By TIFFA, specifically, interviewing Austin’s Friendly Savages who collaborated with the bow tie brand. The knot pictured is named “Trouble With Home”, after the Friendly Savages’ song off their album O, Joshua.

“Trouble With Home” is part of the Fall Appalachia Collection, inspired by indie folk music. Creative Director Tiffany Rogers comments, “I developed the Appalachia Playlist to feature mostly contemporary folk music, with a few older tracks (like Roscoe Holcomb’s “Moonshiner”).  The music naturally called for a Fall color palette featuring deep maroons, browns, sage, and navy.

The “Trouble With Home” bow tie is inspired by Friendly Savages but also ties in with a few of my personal experiences. During the Spring when I was designing the collection, some mourning doves decided to make the basket of my bicycle on my deck their home and it was really cute to peek in on them to see the baby birds grow. Then one day, they just flew away, and to me that’s the trouble with home, you eventually have go on your own and discover the world. You can always return home, but it might not be the same you left it.
