Galactic Beats

The American Museum of Natural History is once again opening its doors tonight for a dance party that’s outta this world.  Lighting up the night this time is Spoek Mathambo, on a mini tour of the states before returning to South Africa (watch out Die Antwoord).  Part of The Fader’s “One Step Beyond” series, this monthly dance party is not to be missed.

Spoek will perform tracks from his critically acclaimed debut CD Mshini Wam with a full live band.  Electro-pop that’s a bit rough and grimy, get ready for a night of visual and audible excess.  The night also features performances by Rainbow Arabia and the Activaire. Live music, DJ’s, VJ’s and video projections will rock your core until the sun comes up (or rather 1:00 when the party ends–it is still a museum afterall)

Drink, dance, brag about your favorite constellations. Whatever you do, do yourself a favor and don’t miss this.
