Tatiana Kochkareva played the Living Room last night, so while most of you were watching the terrible Black Eyed Peas half time show, I was seeing a fantastic live show (not to worry – I caught the rest of the game at a bar across the street afterward)!
The Russian songstress sang a range of songs from her latest CD Roses. From the tongue-in-cheek Standing Still, to the empowering Fly High to the poppy Dreamers, it was an energetic and dynamic show. She closed her set with her single Roses, an upbeat song about the complications of relationships. During the show Tatiana also performed a solo song – a hauntingly beautiful rendition of Lilac Wine by Jeff Buckley. Thankfully, her show was recorded – so once I track down the video of her amazing cover I will post!
This lady has been taking over NYC – playing CMJ and BAMCafe a few months ago, with many more shows to come this year. Expect big things for her in 2011.
See Tatiana play an acoustic set at Pianos this Friday, February 11th!
