Blood Orange’s London-inspired slow burner, “High Street”, now has a cinematic and chic video. Produced and styled by SSENSE as part of their ongoing music video series, “High Street” features haute looks from the likes of Saint Laurent, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Yang Li, and Y-3.
Flashy labels aside, Hynes maintains his signature style of a simple black shirt and cap as he strolls through the London suburb, Muswell Hill.
Joining Hynes on the pensive track is British grime rapper Skepta who spits one of my favorite lines in recent memory: “If you’re feeling me put your Pinot Grigio high”. Take note: I’m going to start incorporating this into my regular speech because Pinot Greej is my go to vino. Raise that glass if you’re with me.
In all seriousness, Blood Orange and Skepta make a great pairing, with Skepta adding the right amount of punch to the otherwise gauzy track.
“High Street” is off Blood Orange’s flawless sophomore album, Cupid Deluxe.
