BenZel & Stevie Neale – “Wasted Love”

BenZel is Japanese duo Two Inch Punch and Benny Blanco. Based out of NYC, the pair got together after bonding over ankle socks, 90’s R&B and J. Dilla. At least that’s what their bio claims.

Really though, how could two people with said interests not collaborate? Ankle socks are clearly superior to any other run-of-the-mill gym sock, and as for 90’s R&B, it’s pretty clutch.

BenZel most recently worked with Jessie Ware, co-writing and producing the startlingly “Tough Love“, the title track off her upcoming sophomore album dropping October 6th.

Now the two just released “Wasted Love” featuring London-based singer-songwriter Stevie Neale. Anyone else picking up a theme here?

“Wasted Love” touches on the toughness of relationships but with a heavier bass line than Ware’s stirring single. Neale has a gorgeous, powerful voice that penetrates right through “used” and “bruised” hearts.

“It was over way before tonight”, Neale sings. “My wasted love, it’s all for him, it’s all for him.” This one’s got major feels.

BenZel are turning out some awesome R&B jams right now. Get ready to get hooked.
