A Pocket Full of Secrets

Phantogram has that mysterious, shoegaze, trip-hop quality to their music, creating sounds that are quite compelling.  The band consists of Joshua Carter (guitar, vocals) and Sarah Barthel (keyboard, vocals).  Sarah’s breathy, eerie voice pairs well with the blend of experimental keys, and Carter’s solid vocals. Though Phantogram just released their first full-length album Eyelid Movies yesterday (Feb 9), the band’s popularity is growing at an accelerated rate.  “When I’m Small” recently aired on MTV, and the duo just made their television debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon where they sang the alluring “Mouthful of Diamonds.”  If you like the twisted, hypnotic stylings of Fever Ray, you’ll like Phantogram. See them at NYC’s Terminal 5 on February 18th, and at Coachella April 15th, where MTV has listed them as one of “The 5 acts worth braving the heat for.”
